I have quite long, thin hair. When I go out at night, I usually wash my hair, apply some leave-in conditioner, blow-dry and then straighten. The next morning though, my hair looks and feels ratty. Is there any product I can put in my hair before styling to keep it smooth and soft?

There is currently a wide range of serum products available that will help keep your straightened hair glossy. Simply pump a five-cent sized dollop into your palm, rub your hands together and spread the serum evenly through your hair.
Be careful not to overdose on it though, or your locks will look greasy. Use after straightening as well as the morning after, to revive your tresses.
Another tip to avoid the rat-tails is to loosely plait your hair before lying on your pillow at night. This should help stop your hair from tangling in your sleep.
