Mid forties styling

I’m 45 years old and currently have extensions. I always wear my hair pulled into a ponytail as I think I’m too “old” to wear it down. The extensions were not the answer. I have an oval face, I’m 5’10”, attractive and in excellent shape. I think I want a shorter, more stylish look but am terrified of looking like the older woman who cut her hair short simply because she’s 45. Can you suggest a style for fine, straight hair? I really like the look on Lisa Rinna. Could that work? Thanks!!

Short, with lots of layers gives thin hair structure and fullness. If you do cut your hair like that, you can do the Lisa Rinner look by flicking your hair out. Blowdry outwards with a round brush to achieve the curl and set with a generous dosing of hairspray.
