Fresh sheets

I love nothing better than hanging sheets out on the washing line on a hot summer’s day, then leaping into their fresh-smelling crispness that night. once upon a time I used to starch and iron my sheets (when I was obviously quite mad) regularly but now I only do it occasionally as a treat.

To starch sheets:Save the water from cooking potatoes, rice or pasta and throw a cup of it into your final rinse.

I have a 5kg washing machine so, if you have a smaller one, try using just half a cup.

I also spray my sheets with lavender water so I thought I’d share that recipe with you too. Lavender water 1 tsp lavender essential oil 60ml vodka 750ml water mix together in a spray bottle and spray on sheets after drying. Shake bottle well before use and air sheets before storing them.
