If appropriate, wear a suit or for a less formal look you can’t beat a pair of well-cut trousers and a fitted top or shirt in a colour that suits your skin tone.
Even if some of the people in the workplace wear jeans, try to avoid them for at least the first week, until you can gauge the vibe of the workplace and see if they are appropriate.
