The iconic TV show Friends celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, but 25 years on Jennifer Aniston doesn’t look a day older than her character on the show, Rachel.

At 50, Jennifer looks better than ever with the actress crediting intermittent fasting and a rigorous fitness regime for her incredible figure.

Chatting to the Radio Times recently, Jen revealed she was following the 16:8 intermittent fasting plan and had seen impressive results ever since.

“I do intermittent fasting, so there’s no food in the morning. I noticed a big difference in going without solid food for 16 hours,” she shared.

“Today, I woke up and had a celery juice. Then I started to brew some coffee, but I don’t drink coffee that early.”

While there are numerous kinds of intermittent fasting, there’s the 5:2 diet and Fast 800 diet among others, the 16:8 diet Jen follows requires you to not eat or ‘fast’ for 16 hours and gives you an eight-hour time frame to eat during the day.

Along with weight loss, intermittent fasting has been shown to improve heart health and lower the risk of developing type-2 diabetes.

As well as sticking to the intermittent fasting eating regime, Jen keeps up an intense workout routine which includes boxing and a strong strength and conditioning regime.

Speaking to Women’s Health earlier this year, Jen’s personal trainer Leyon Azubuike says the Dumplin‘ actress works out anywhere between three to seven days a week.

“We box, we jump rope, we do strength training, we do a lot of work with resistance bands—we’re big on resistance bands,” Leyon tells Women’s Health.

“We rotate these things so it’s always hard, she’s consistently being challenged—I’m a big fan of switching things up, so the body reacts in a positive way and changes.”

He says Jen also loves boxing and core workouts revealing Jen can “hold a two- or three-minute plank rather easily.”

Last year a close friend revealed Jen grew to love boxing while she was going through her second divorce with ex-husband Justin Theroux.

In the past, Jennifer has admitted that boxing allows her “little fantasy moments imagining who you’re punching. I’m grateful it’s not actually the person, even though there’s one person.”

She’s also called the intense workout the “mental release of all this crap you’re taking into your eyes and ears every day.”

Jen’s latest revelation comes just a week after she promptly broke the internet when she finally joined Instagram.

After years of shying away from social media, the actress brought the big guns for her very first Instagram post uploading a photo of her and her fellow Friends cast mates Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.

The post garnered so much attention that the platform momentarily crashed, due to the demand!

Jen’s ex-husband Justin was one of the first people to comment on the photograph writing: “Woot-Woot.”

While her close friend, fellow actress Reese Witherspoon commented “YASSSS!!! Welcome to Insta Jen!!!”

Jennifer hinted just a week earlier that she was thinking about joining Instagram.

Speaking about social media, she said “you can actually have a little bit more control over the narrative that’s out there.

“[You can] right some wrongs and some silly things that, God knows, are said often. Maybe [I’ll join]. You never know.”
