Why you should drink coffee daily

New science suggests coffee could help protect your liver.

Latest studies suggest that you shouldn’t feel guilty for enjoying more than one hot cup of coffee per day.

The study, from Britain’s Southampton University, found that drinking one or two cups of coffee every day can reduce their risk of cirrhosis by 22 to 43 per cent and three or four cups can reduce the threat by 57-65 per cent.

The study analysed data from more than 430,000 people and suggests it the antioxidants found in the caffeinated drink help with reducing inflammation and repairing damaged liver cells.

“Cirrhosis is potentially fatal, and there is no cure as such,” lead researcher Oliver Kennedy told The Washington Post.

“Therefore, it is significant that the risk of developing cirrhosis may be reduced by consumption of coffee, a cheap, ubiquitous, and well-tolerated beverage.”

Cirrhosis kills more than a million people worldwide every year. It can be caused by excessive alcohol consumption, immune disorders, hepatitis and fatty liver disease.

So drink up, coffee is good for you!
