Nothing says true love like kicking your bad habits.

Before Prince Harry met Meghan Markle he was well-known for his party-boy ways – with the British paparazzi regularly capturing images of him enjoying London’s night life, including images of Prince Harry smoking cigarettes.

The hugely likeable royal has since put his partying days behind him. As he shared in his and Meghan’s first interview with the media in our video above, you’re more likely these days to find him spending quiet nights in at his cottage with Meghan. But he’s still said to enjoy the occasional cigarette and clean-living Meghan reportedly does not like it – well, who can blame her?

Happily, according to the Daily Mail Prince Harry is kicking the habit for her.

A friend of Prince Harry’s told the publication, “Harry has promised no smoking at all at home. It’s not nice for Meghan as a nonsmoker. So there’s no more hanging out of the window for a quick puff. Harry has quit for Meghan.”

Now that’s got to be true love!

As any former smoker will tell you, quitting smoking is not easy. In fact it’s common for smokers to attempt to quit several times before they manage to kick the habit for good, so Meghan will need to be supportive.

If you’re thinking about quitting too, visiting New Zealand’s www.smokefree.org.nz website can be a good start.

These are the immediate health benefits, as advised by Smokefree NZ, that Harry will enjoy when he quits (and you could too):

  • Within 20 minutes, your blood pressure, body temperature and pulse will return to normal.

  • Within eight hours, your smoker’s breath disappears, the carbon monoxide level in your blood drops and your oxygen level rises to normal.

  • Within 24 hours, your chance of a heart attack decreases.

  • Within three days, your breathing is easier and you can run without wheezing.

Longterm, you increase your life expectancy and greatly reduce your risk of developing lung cancer or having a heart attack or stroke.

Now why wouldn’t a guy want to kick the habit!
