Man almost unrecognisable after amazing 10-month weight loss

A morbidly obese man, who once tipped the scales at 178kg, is almost unrecognisable after taking control of his health and hitting the gym.

A morbidly obese man, who once tipped the scales at 178kg, is almost unrecognisable after taking control of his health and hitting the gym.

The Sun reports that Ross Gardner gave up his love for fast-food and 15,000 calorie a day diet to go on and lose a whopping 90 kilos.

Dr Gardner – a chiropractor from Florida in the US – has swapped his size XXXXL frame for a slim build and now weighs about 89 kilos, reports The Sun.

The turning point for Gardner came when he was humiliated at the airport when he was forced to pay for two airline seats to take a holiday to the Bahamas.

“I would drink nearly a litre of Jack Daniel’s every evening and then binge on food until 2am before I went to bed so I wouldn’t be hung-over in the morning,” Dr Gardner remembers of his relationship with food. “I didn’t take my shirt off once in six years in front of anyone, I was too ashamed of my bulging belly.”

“I didn’t recognise the person staring back at me in the mirror, I was absolutely huge.”

Fed up with his size, Gardner was recommended a weight-loss specialist from his uncle and after changing his diet and integrating exercise into his routine this once morbidly obese man shed half of his body weight in 10 months.

“In the first week I lost half a stone and from there the weight just kept falling off,” explains Gardner. “It actually got to the point where I struggled to stop losing weight and I had to higher my calorie intake to maintain a healthy weight.”

Now a healthy Dr Gardner wants to lend hand to others struggling with their weight-loss journeys.

“I went back to medical school and I have just qualified as a chiropractic physician. I now help others and want to prove that it is never too late to turn your life around,” he said.
