Move over rollerblading women in white jeans and beaker cups full of strange blue liquid.
UK company Bodyform have been praised for showing a range of tough women playing sports through their periods in a new advertising series simply called Blood.
The gritty ad features women playing rugby, surfing, skateboarding and ballet dancing, and all are ignoring the fact they’re bleeding.
The athletes’ various injuries are shown in all their gore, before the ad ends with the tag line, “No blood should hold us back”.
The ad was created as part of Bodyform’s Red.fit campaign tasked with educating people about how menstruation affects the body at different points in the monthly cycle and giving advice on nutrition and exercise.
