Elle Macpherson’s private struggle – and how she changed her life

Supermodel Elle McPherson seemed to have it all, but behind the glitz and glamour she was struggling. She talks to NEXT.

Supermodel Elle Macpherson is best known for her modelling career but is now changing the face of the nutrition industry, after privately battling a health scare when she discovered a lump in her breast two years ago.

“I was really panicking,” she says.

With a hectic work schedule keeping her up till 2am and a jet setting lifestyle, she was surviving on less than four hours of sleep a night, and suffering from adrenal fatigue.

The mother of two resolved to improving her diet and lifestyle, by making simple changes to her routine including sleeping more, increasing her fruit and vegetable intake, and cutting back on red meat.

“I didn’t realise how these relatively small changes could make me feel and look so much better.”

Together with a team of doctors she got to work to develop a health supplement, which has had an overwhelmingly positive response, and a dedicated celebrity following including Kate Moss and Kate Hudson.

“In 2014 we stopped advertising, and just let our customers tell their stories and it’s been the most powerful thing we could have done.”

Not only does the product clearly work for Elle, her blended family has also reaped the benefits of the supplement. Her kids have noticed huge improvement in their health, which has inspired Elle to launch a children’s version of the products.

Once dubbed “The Body” by Sports Illustrated, the retired model is a vision of vitality and youth and it doesn’t look like her beauty will be fading anytime soon.
