How do you rate your emotional strength? Researchers studying the emotional wellbeing of 7000 people from around the world found that there are three characteristics that determine your ability to bounce back quickly from a traumatic event:
- A good social network: Your resilience to trauma is increased if you have good emotional support from friends and family. 2. Faith in the goodness of others: So you continue to see the world in a positive light despite the occurance of a tragic event. 3. Self-acceptance: Stronger people didn’t blame themselves for life’s ups and downs whereas non-resilient ones did.
