If exercise is too hard

Some people may feel it’s impossible to fit a structured exercise session into their busy day or else they think doing it’s going to require extra-special effort.

“We try to use the phrase ‘physical activity’ rather than ‘exercise’ so people won’t think they have to take up running or join the gym,” says Judi.

“of course, if you can do that, that’s great, but increasing the amount of activity you do doesn’t have to mean jumping around in lycra. It could be using the stairs instead of taking the lift, getting off the bus a couple of stops earlier than usual or doing a few hours’ gardening. If it is part of your daily routine, it is much easier to do.”
