Soft drinks may be bad for our brains.
A study at Sydney’s Macquarie University found long-term consumption altered hundreds of proteins in the brain.
Similar changes have been seen in cancer and Alzheimer’s patients.
Because fizzy drinks alter the chemistry of the brain, they should be consumed in moderation, say the researchers.
