Demi Lovato officially debuted her new single ‘Cool for the Summer’ earlier this week with a special performance at a Manhattan rooftop pool party for some of her biggest fans.
The pop star and former X Factor judge dressed up for the occasion in a revealing crop top paired with denim shorts and fishnet-style thigh-high heels, and finished off her performance by jumping into the pool with her fans!
The infectious summer single has already made a big splash, but the singer was recently forced to defend the song against claims she had copied Jessie J and Katy Perry.

After Entertainment Tonight tweeted an article about the controversy, Demi fired back, writing “@etnow sounds nothing like it and with all the advances we’ve made in the LGBT community … I think more than one female artist can kiss a girl and like it.”
While the music video for the single has yet to be released, Demi did film a special ‘Ryan Seacrest’ edition when she stopped by his radio show. Watch a clip from the video below:
