Meet the 8-year-old Drag Queen whose parents are his biggest fans

According to the world's youngest Drag Queen: “If your parents don’t let you do drag, you need new parents”

Encouraged by his supportive parents, Nemis Quinn Mélançon Golden started getting into drag when he was 7 and is now the newest sensation on the Montreal drag scene.

Only a year later after his sister came up with his drag name “Lactatia”, he was invited up on stage during the Werq the World drag tour where he charmed the audience and caught the attention of Bianca del Rio, the star of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Along with his signature look of dyed red hair and matching eyeshadow – the 8-year-old has become a celebrity among the LGBT community and beyond.

With the help of his mum who does his makeup for performances, Lactatia also attends voguing classes to perfect his dance moves.

Lactatia who reveals he’s been wearing dresses “and been into girls’ stuff since I was like three” also has some encouraging words for fellow drag queens or aspiring drag dressers who may not feel as supported as he does.

“Anyone can do what they want in life,” he told a LGBT In The City reporter.

“It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.”

“If you want to be a drag queen and your parents don’t let you, you need new parents. If you want to be a drag queen and your friends don’t let you, you need new friends.”
