Editor-at-large Sarah Henry tries the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Golden Age range

Our editor-at-large shares her thoughts on the range
Sarah Henry and products from the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Golden Age Range

The older I get, the less make-up I want to wear. I’m more about celebrating who I am rather than trying to look like someone else. However, the less-is-more approach requires a foundation of a different kind – good-quality skincare, which is why I was intrigued to try the Age Perfect Golden Age range from global beauty leader L’Oréal Paris.

The what:

The products have been specifically formulated for mature skin to help address the dreaded sagging and bring back that youthful tone many of us miss. Special ingredients, like calcium B5 for improved skin density and peony extract, which assists with the rosy blush of younger skin, are the stars in this range, which also includes a serum, night cream and an SPF-inclusive day cream.

L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Golden Age Rosy Day Cream, $44.99, and L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Golden Age SPF 15 Day Cream, $44.99.

The trial:

When I lift the lid off the chic packaging of the day cream, I’m expecting the rich, white lotion I’m accustomed to, however, this cream is a dusky pink with an almost pearlised appearance.

I apply a small amount on my freshly cleaned face. Almost instantly, I can see the difference to my skin, which takes on a subtle yet beautiful, rosy-toned glow. Using circular motions, the thick day cream quickly soaks into my skin, leaving a lovely, smooth result.

I follow up the day cream with the eye cream. Again, the product has the unusual pink tone. I pat a little under each eye and notice that it resembles a concealer more than a traditional eye cream. I continue dabbing and, just like that, the darker areas are definitely less noticeable. There is no doubt I look more vibrant and more awake than before I applied the eye cream, which can also be used around the eye, as well as on the eyelid. It’s also worth noting that a little goes a long way.

L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Golden Age Radiant Care Eye Cream, $44.99, and L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Golden Age Peony Serum, $59.99.

The result:

After a week of using the Age Perfect Golden Age range, I’ve grown to love the look, scent and, most importantly, the results. Not only does my skin feel plump and hydrated, but the soft and smooth skin results, along with the subtle sheen, has also given me the confidence to go make-up free if I choose. And at the affordable price, these products are a great addition to my daily skincare routine.
