Here at New Zealand Woman’s Weekly we love – and support – anything Kiwi-made. I jumped at the opportunity to do this week’s knitwear shoot at the Sabatini knitwear factory. I was blown away by their huge, old machines, as they pumped out the most splendid coloured and patterned wool fabrics.
These were then hand-cut and sewn into gorgeous garments. It’s brilliant seeing knitwear created from scratch. Knitwear is a winter staple in most people’s wardrobe. The shops are full of options at the moment – from the cheaper synthetics combined with wool, through to high-end pure cashmere.
When it comes to selecting your winter knits, take your time and read the content label. Decide if you’re wanting to buy a one-season wonder or an investment garment that you intend to wear for many winters to come.
