Web extra: out of the blue

Denim is strong, durable and easy to wash, however constant laundering will see it fade in time, so make sure you turn jeans inside out before washing on the cold cycle and the colour will hold for longer.

Metallic jeans are hot right now, but some can look a little too shiny. Lessen the shine by using Jif Cream and a stilo pad, rubbing back and forth and being careful not to damage the fabric until you get the desired effect.

White jeans get a bad name, but worn well they can be very flattering. The key to getting it right is to persevere until you find a pair that is right for you. Always opt for a size larger than usual, and a substantial fabric – if they are too thin, you will see underwear lines and wobbly bits, so take your time to get it right!
