Fashion Week 2016 opened last night with clinking champagne glasses and air kisses galore. The official opening brought together a collection of industry players, international delegates and a smattering of the who’s who of Auckland’s social scene.
Fashion choices were dominated by fur all round for the ladies and tailoring through to goth-ninja styling for the gents. After speeches from the founder of NZFW Dame Pieter Stewart and other politicians it was time for the first show of the week – Harman Grubisa.
Harman Grubisa debuted at NZFW last year to critical acclaim and have been dominating the fashion pages ever since with their fabulous refined elegance. Super talented wonder kids Madeline Harman and Jessica Grubisa did not disappoint this time with metallics, frock coats, cropped flares, pleating over everything – and the de rigueur fur.
After a gentle start the full days and nights of NZFW madness start now and I’ll be there covering it all. Stay tuned to the Woman’s Day Instagram for photos as it happens and check in here on our website for photo galleries, daily round ups and so much more!
