TUESDAY, AUGUST 23
The day started with an installation catwalk presentation by Salasai who kept things gender fluid with a mixture of neoprene pieces and knitwear.
Eugenie was up next sending combinations of denim and velvet down the runway – headwear varying between berets and Bowie-esque orange mullet wigs.
Then there was some modern menswear from French83 for the younger man. Crisp cottons for tailoring and tech fabrics like airtex for streetwear elements.
Wynn Hamlyn was one of the best surprises of the day. The new graduate produced a collection that nods to the 70s with safari elements highlighted by the most fabulous carpet style bags and coats and finished with upholstery style tassel belts.
The New Generation show comprised of unisex ranges from Mitchell Vincent, Erik/Yvon and AO – grey marles, khakis, black and whites with splashes of bold colour ruled all three collections.
Next up was a group show featuring BlackEyePeach and XPLAIN – the former showing florals, burgundy and black pieces, and the latter pinstripe layered pieces and a rust story.
And then it was Jarrod Godman show in collaboration with Servilles. What a showstopper! With goth-ninja draping and layering plus a fabulous cropped flamenco style pant – all topped off with some glorious head and face wraps. Bravo!
Fashion Highlight of the Day
Without doubt it’d be Jarrod Godman’s collab show with Servilles … Divine edgy clothing and fabulous hair and face wraps!
