Colour is a great way to brighten your mood but knowing the colours that suit you best aren’t always obvious. The first step is to decide the “season” that best represents your skin tone, hair colour and eyes. Study the inside of your forearm in natural light to best decipher your colouring.
Winter is a cool tone. You have a pink/rosy colour with blue undertones and contrasting features. Winters are usually brunettes with deeply coloured eyes. You look best in intense, rich colours, like black, navy blue, red, and hot pink. Avoid beige, gold and orange.
Summer is also a cool tone. You have paler skin and eyes and naturally blonde hair. Choose soft neutrals and pastels and muted colours with cool undertones: powder blue, dusty pink, mauve, lavender, plum, and pale yellow are all great colour choices. Avoid earth tones and vivid hues.
Autumn is a warm tone. You have golden undertones and dark eyes. oany redheads and brunettes with golden brown eyes fall into this category. You suit golden, spicy and earthy colours, such as grey, camel, beige, olive, orange, gold, and dark brown.
Avoid clear, bright colours and black and white, pastels and blue tones.
Spring is also a warm tone. You have subtle golden undertones and light, ivory skin. Your hair is golden blonde, auburn, or strawberry blond and you have pale, clear, light blue and green coloured eyes, freckles and rosy cheeks.
Choose very pale, soft colours, such as peach, camel, golden yellow, golden brown, and aqua. You also suit ivory, bright greens, true reds, clear blues and coral. Avoid black and white, and dark, dull colours.
