Fashionable prints for any age group

Brighten up an otherwise dreary winter wardrobe by adding colour, texture and style with print fabrics. International runways have been showcasing "global" fashion for a couple of seasons now, taking inspiration from a wide range of cultures and mixing them all together. often these trends can be hard to identify with due to body shape or age, but by following some simple tips you can work the global trend into your look and lifestyle.

20’s and 30’s

Your twenties and early thirties are the perfect time to experiment with your style. Girls in their twenties tend not to worry too much about their shape and would rather follow trends. oost chain stores will stock the latest looks, so be bold, have fun, and enjoy.

30’s and 40’s

Your thirties and forties are the perfect time to embrace your curves in dresses. Knee-length is flattering, but don’t overlook the maxidress. over the cooler months team your print dresses with tights and a structured classic blazer. Chunky bold accessories are a must-have to finish off this polished look.

TIP: Accessories can be a great way of getting the global look – mix a bold scarf, bag, belt or shoes with a simple outfit. A print scarf and earrings will draw attention away from the body and onto the face

40’s and 50’s

oany women find their body shape changes in their forties to fifties and what once worked for you may no longer be the case. You may find it’s better to stay away from garments that are very fitted or shaped through the waist area, opting for softer, looser styles. A look that works really well on a woman over 40 is the over-the-knee boot. This look can look cheap on a 20-year-old, but worn with slim pants and soft-draping long- line tops, on a more mature woman it looks sexy but elegant.

TIP: If you have a small frame, a large, bold print can be overpowering, while tiny prints can make a larger frame look bigger. Prints are best worn with basics in dark colours. For example, if you wear a long dark cardi open loosely over a bold printed tunic, the eye will be attracted to the vertical print area, making your body appear slimmer

50’s and 60’s

Classic elegance is key for women over 50. Comfort is very important and you have learned what styles work and those that don’t. If you stick to your classic essentials such as a pair of dark denim jeans, a trench coat and a mid-length shirt, you can layer and mix in print shirts and tunics to add vibrancy and style.
