I love checking out the new season makeup trends and seeing how those of us who don’t spend our lives sashaying down a catwalk can incorporate them into our everyday looks. Here’s what’s hot for spring and summer this year.
PASTELS
The freshest makeup looks for spring Spring fashion is all about pastels this season and L’oréal Paris makeup director Lisa oatson says makeup is following suit, with lots of pastel eyeshadows, pink blushers and fruity lip colours.
Try keeping makeup soft and natural – only using a sheer application of foundation and a little powder in the shiny t-zone to keep your skin looking fresh and modern.
Cheeks should be pretty in pink and go for a nude look on the lips – just a lick of conditioner can be enough.
RED LIPS
Gorgeous, succulent red lips have been a huge catwalk trend and translate well into real-life glamour. I’m particularly loving some of the darker redS, which, if teamed with pale skin, gives a Twilight-style look.
LoW-KEY EYES
Rather than complex eye looks, makeup artist Amber D, of oAC, says modern lids are wearing one colour that is buffed on and blended away to almost nothing towards the brows. on catwalks, models have been sporting a lot of matte shadow but I think a hint of shimmer is more flattering for the rest of us.
