The large pan-size of this compact makes it easy to sweep your brush around and the shade is great for faking that ‘just back from Hawaii’ glow. It is heavily pigmented though, so use sparingly and tap your brush to shake off extra product before applying. Remember, it’s easier to build colour than to remove it.

A true matte bronzer, this bareMinerals compact is best for adding definition to your face by shading around the temples of your forehead, in the hollows of your cheeks and along your jawline – be mindful to blend the colour into your neck. While this is the lightest shade in the bareMinerals range, it is still quite a deep bronze so best suited to those with olive and darker skin tones.

This loose mineral powder is our pick of the pack for those with sensitive skin. While a shimmer bronzer isn’t usually great in sunny weather (no one wants to look like a disco ball) this one is subtle enough. Plus, it can be used as a highlighter on cheekbones, so it gets a multi-purpose tick.
Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls, $24.99
Use a matte bronzer during the day and save these iridescent balls for use at night. The pearl finish looks great when swept along your décolletage to define your collar bones for a sexy hint of shimmer.
