Night to remember

I reckon Valentine’s Day should be all about love, not spending. So if you’re already coupled up, then why not celebrate the most romantic date on the calendar by enjoying some time with each other?

And if you’re a singleton, then use that time to lavish all your attention entirely on yourself! Whether it’s a sexy look or pampering treats you’re after, we’ve got some great ideas.

**If you’ve got a date …

**Valentine’s night doesn’t have to be a pricey occasion – just some special time together. So your mission is to look sexy without looking overdone. Go with a soft pinky-brown shade on the eyes, glossy lips and a sheer wash of blusher on the cheekbones.

Keep it subtle, dipping your brush into the colour and tapping off excess product before you apply. Use a small blusher brush to define cheekbones with a natural-looking flush. Curl lashes and apply a brown mascara for a softer look.

**If you’re having a quiet night in …

**Remember that scene in the Sex and the City movie where Carrie and Miranda are out having dinner together on Valentine’s night, surrounded by streamers, balloons and loving couples? If ever an evening was made for singletons to stay in and pamper themselves, this is it.

Run a bath – not too hot because it dehydrates the skin – and put something yummy in it. Exfoliate from top to toe, then laze around, preferably with a glass of bubbles. After your bath, slather on body cream, apply a face masque and lie down for a bit.
