Shaving legs first became popular during World War II, when stockings were in short supply and bare, tea-dyed legs (with a pencilled seamline up the back) became the trend.
Today, shaving is still the fastest, easiest and least-expensive form of hair removal.
Here are some hints to make sure you’re doing it right.
For best results, wet your skin and let it soften from exposure to heat and moisture. The best time to shave is at the end of your bath or shower.
Shaving cream is worth the extra expense. Never shave with just water – even using soap won’t give you a great result.
Whichever razor you choose, make sure you change your blades regularly and don’t share razors with your man – his hair is coarser and will dull a blade in double-quick time. Blunt razors are the major cause of nicks and irritation and don’t give a close shave.
Make sure you moisturise afterwards. Your silky smooth legs will thank you for it!
