STEP 1 – Body brushing
Dry brushing is a simple technique that stimulates blood and lymph flow. Some people believe it can even help tackle cellulite. Get yourself a long-handled brush with soft, natural bristles and use it before you take a bath or shower. Start at your feet and sweep up the legs in long brisk movements, paying particular attention to cellulite-prone areas, then move on to the hands and arms. Always brush toward the heart.
Brush your belly with a circular motion, do your bottom and back, then finish with small circular movements around the neck. The whole business should take only two to five minutes. Don’t brush too hard or for too long – the idea is to stimulate, not irritate.
STEP 2 – Exfoliating
All that brushing will have loosened dead skin cells so now it’s time to polish them away. oassage a body scrub onto damp skin in circular motions. Be firmer on dryareas like heels and elbows. Choose a product that polishes without drying and rinse away excess with a gentle body wash.
STEP 3 – Hair removal
If you’ve got dark hair on your forearms and tummy then bleaching is a great option. The effect lasts up to six weeks and there’s no stubbly regrowth. But for all-out hair removal, check out some of the new products on the market that condition skin while removing hair – even razors have moisturisers built in these days!
STEP 4 – Bathing
Now it’s time to run a relaxing bath. Add some skin-enriching oil to the water and treat yourself to a long, luxurious soak. For a real spa feel, do the whole thing with scented candles and relaxing music.
STEP 5 – Body wrap
Give yourself a home body wrap by slathering on more oil or body butter after you’ve climbed out of the bath. Then wrap yourself in warm towels and have a little lie-down while your skin soaks up the goodness. Blot off any excess oil before you put on clothes. Enjoy the feel of your smooth, hairless, hydrated skin. And promise yourself you’ll do the whole thing again next week
