How to get bright, white teeth

Asking your dentist to whiten your teeth can be an expensive and uncomfortable process. Doing it yourself is easy but it’s important to first look at overall lifestyle. What are you eating or drinking that could be causing discolouration or yellowing? Red wine, cigarettes and caffeine can all stain teeth. Eating crunchy foods such as apples, celery, carrots and broccoli will help to keep teeth white thanks to their abrasive nature so head to your green grocer as a first step. Regular flossing will also discourage plaque from building up on teeth – and it goes without saying brushing will too.

Natural remedies include baking soda, (dip a wet brush into the soda before brushing); mixed with hydrogen peroxide it’s even more effective.

other good recipes include apple cider vinegar with baking soda and the much better tasting ground orange peels with bay leaves. Rubbing the inner side of an orange peel over teeth can whiten teeth as well. Use in moderation and you’ll be ready to flash those pearlers!
