Eyeshadow palettes can be the best and worst item in your makeup collection.
On the one hand, they definitely give you more eyeshadow bang for your buck. On the other hand, we rarely use every colour in the palette, and it can be difficult knowing what to put where.
But the truth is, they aren’t as daunting as you think. Follow this one-size-fits-all guide and learn how to apply eyeshadow like a pro!
Apply the second-lightest shadow over your eyelid
Using a four-colour palette, apply the second-lightest shadow over the entire eyelid as a base.
Use the darkest and second-darkest colours around the lid and lashlines
Next, blend the second-darkest colour on the socket and above the top lashline in the shape of a C. Then apply the darkest colour over the socket and down along the bottom lashline – this adds depth to the eyes.
Apply the lightest colour as a highlight
Then, apply the lightest colour to the inner corners of the eye and under the brow.
Complete your look with mascara and liner
As your last step, complete the look with mascara and a little pencil liner on the top lashline.
