Give yourself a luxurious pedicure

When was the last time you pampered your feet? our tootsies are easy to neglect but a luxurious pedicure can make you feel beautiful from the ground up. Spare yourself the expense of a spa treatment and do it yourself at home. Start by soaking feet in warm water with a few drops of lavender oil and a dash of milk to soften skin. Pat dry and use a pumice stone or exfoliating lotion to smooth cracked heels.

Eliminate any traces of nail polish using cotton pads and alcohol-free remover. To avoid ingrown nails, cut them straight across with clippers or nail scissors. Using a non-metallic emery board, file nails in one direction until the corners are slightly rounded. Rub cuticle remover into the base of each nail, leave for a minute, then use an orangewood stick to gently remove excess skin. Rub in your favourite fragrant foot cream and massage up the calves.

Apply a thin base coat on nails using three strokes, one down the middle, then one on each side. Wait a minute before adding two coats of polish, then finish with a thin top coat. Clean up any errors with an orangewood stick wrapped in cotton and dipped in remover.

Let nails dry for at least 40 minutes. You’re done!
