Give nails a soak

At least once a week, give your nails a soak in a bowl of warm water. After ten minutes, remove your hands and begin your treatment regimen.

Moisturise

Lock in moisture after soaking your nails by using a good hand cream. Weleda’s Pomegranate regenerating Hand Cream is a great option this winter. Simply rub into hands, cuticles and behind your nails too for full coverage.

Apply cuticle softener

Now that your nails are softened from the warm water, this is the perfect time to apply cuticle oil, just like the new Weleda Cuticle Softener Pen. Thanks to a selection of natural ingredients including organic pomegranate seed oil, almond oil and jojoba, this product will help you grow strong and healthy nail beds. Once you’ve allowed the product to sink in a little, use the pen tip to push back cuticles.

Use a nail care pen

Once you’ve taken care of your cuticles, a nail care pen can be a great way to protect the nail from getting dried out. The Weleda Nail Care Pen includes pomegranate oil, shea butter and beeswax to naturally preserve your nail health. Apply the product to your nails and cuticles and massage in.

Wear gloves

When the weather gets colder, pop on a pair of gloves when you’re out and about to prevent nails getting damaged.

Drink plenty of water

We often forget to drink enough water during the winter months, but it’s just as important for staving off dehydration – which can also lead to dried out skin, hair and nails. Beauty starts from within, remember!

Make sure you’re getting enough protein

Protein is essential for strengthening nails, so make sure you get plenty of the following – meat, eggs, beans or lentils.

Weleda products are available from all good health food stores and pharmacies nationwide and online at www.weleda.co.nz. To locate your nearest stockist or for further information visit the Weleda website www.weleda.co.nz.
