Beauty news: Skin changes with chemotherapy

How to find a foundation that covers skin changes that happen with chemotherapy

I’m going through chemotherapy and I’ve noticed my freckles and red marks have become darker, and my skin isn’t as good as normal.

It’s difficult to find a foundation that covers without looking heavy or caked on. Any ideas would be helpful. I am 52.

I asked Lesley Rees of the charity Look Good, Feel Better for her advice on this one.

She says, “Match your foundation to your skin tone rather than the freckles.  Apply a sheer layer making sure to blend all the edges and beneath the jawline.

Then, instead of using a concealer, apply another layer of foundation using a press/pat/roll application on the areas that are troubling you. A dusting of translucent powder will help hold the foundation in place.

Make sure your last sweep is downwards to lay the facial hairs flat.”
