As a highlighter
Why use a pricey cream to accentuate cheekbones? Just a small slick of Vaseline can have a similar effect – just a dab is all you need, and is a great fix for when on the go.
As a lash definer
Whether you’re all our of mascara or just hate wearing the stuff, Vaseline can be a great alternative for helping lashes look thicker and darker without actually adding any colour. We recommend using an old, clean mascara wand coated in Vaseline to get every lash. Top tip: It’s rumoured that using this regularly helps lashes to grow faster – so it has long term beauty benefits too.
As a moisturiser
So this might be obvious, but Vaseline makes a fantastic moisturiser for face and body. Whether you have chapped skin from a cold or you just need an intensive moisture boost, Vaseline is a good shout for your skin’s needs. Although it is non pore-blocking, those with acne prone skin should speak to their dermatologist before trying this.
As a skin protectant
Dying your hair or tanning your skin? The nature of Vaseline makes it a great product to protect your skin from staining. Just dab around the hairline or on areas tan tends to stick, and you’re golden.
As a gel eyeshadow
Make your own gel shadow for summer by mixing a small amount of your favourite powder with a little Vaseline. Perfect for a summery finish.
As a brow tamer
Smooth, defined brows are the ticket to feeling groomed, and a little Vaseline combed through brows can help stop that ‘mad scientist’ effect. We recommend using a clean and dry toothbrush (NOT the same one used on your teeth) to comb a little product through the brow for a look that will stay all day.
As a lip gloss
Probably the most traditional beauty use of Vaseline is as a lip balm, but by simply mixing some of your favourite lippie with petroleum jelly will create a gorgeous gloss in your favourite shade.
As a fix for old bronzer
Got an old, cracked bronzer that you can no longer take out and about? Turn it into a body shimmer with a little Vaseline mixed in. You can apply to décolletage, on legs and shoulders for a summery glow that doesn’t cost the earth.
As a split-end sealer
It’s not a permanent solution, but if you’re inbetween cuts and need something to make your split ends more presentable, smooth a little Vaseline on them.
As a perfume extender
A little Vaseline on pulse points, then sprayed with perfume, can apparently help your scent last longer.
As an eye makeup remover
Some makeup removers can contain harsh chemicals that irritate eyes. Remove everything from mascara to false lash glue with Vaseline and some cotton pads.
