The first 8 episodes of The Bear follow Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto (played by Shameless alum Jeremy Allen White), a young fine dining chef who is forced to return home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop after the death of his brother.
Season 1 uncovers Carmy's grapples with trading in the prestige world of fine dining to managing a struggling family business and its ragtag bunch of cooks.
In episode 8, the season 1 finale of The Bear, Carmy realises that his brother Michael had more faith in him than he ever thought after he discovers a cryptic note. "Let it rip," the note reads — and Carmy discovers his brother has left him large sums of cash hidden in food cans around the restaurant.
Carmy renames the restaurant 'The Bear', and with a renewed focus, he begins the work to revive it.
What is season 2 of The Bear about?
Without giving away any spoilers, season 2 of The Bear again follows Carmy's progress on reviving his restaurant, although it's not without hurdles. We'll also see how his relationships with Syd (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss Bachrach), Marcus (Lionel Boyce) and the rest of his staff develop.
