Talking exclusively to Woman’s Day, Chris and Bex Wright have confirmed they’ve split.

The Wanaka based couple, who married in 2015, called time on their relationship after the cameras stopped rolling earlier this year, and by the time the popular show premiered on TVNZ 2, they’d called it quits.

Chris, 35, and Bex, 32, both gushed about their love for each other on the first episode – and they confess to Woman’s Day it was love at first sight when they met seven years ago – but sadly between the end of filming and the show going to air, the pair decided to divorce.

Bex, who works in admin, explains, “It was just one of those things … we became more like friends than lovers, but we’re still close.”

Real estate agent Chris says it was tricky navigating the split in the spotlight of MKR publicity, but the separation is amicable and, “We’re working on being positive with each other.”
