Married At First Sight’s Cheryl Maitland moves on with a new man… and takes a massive dig at an ex

She had to kiss some frogs but it looks like the MAFS star has finally found a keeper - although his past isn't squeaky clean.

Married At First Sight star Cheryl Maitland has gone public with her new man.

The 25-year-old confirmed her blossoming relationship via Instagram with a sweet snap of her kissing plumber Dean Gibbs on a romantic picnic.

“And then there was you ❤,” the smitten reality star penned.

But not before taking a swipe at her ex-boyfriend, Andrew Jones and his musical flair by adding the hashtag “#thankgodhedidntpullouthisguitar.”

Cheryl was part of two couples that broke up during filming of the hit reality TV show. Initially pair with Jonathon, the pair split after he began texting another women involved in the relationship experiment.

She later began an on-screen relationship with Andrew, before the pair eventually ended things.

Cheryl and Dean confirmed their romance with this Instagram post.

Four weeks ago Dean, who lives in Melbourne, shared a snap of him and Cheryl catching up for a drink in Broadbeach.

“Catching up with this legend! One of the strongest, most down to earth, kindest is people I know! @hotlikeasunrise,” he mused.

Fans were quick to congratulate the cute new couple.

“Glad to see you have found happiness. You deserve it,” one user wrote.

“Couple goals forever,” a fan penned. “Hashtag on point,” another laughed.

However, new details of her boyfriend’s past are coming to light.

According to the ABC, the 27-year-old is a former police officer who lost his job and was charged with drug trafficking offences in 2014.

Dean pleaded guilty to five charges – including trafficking cocaine and the possession of ecstasy and anabolic steroids.

During the trial, Dean explained that he had turned to steroids as a teenager to help him bulk up and one day achieve his dream of becoming a police officer.

After joining the police force, Dean turned to cocaine to cope with the confronting nature of his job, the ABC reports. To help fund his habit, the Melbourne local started to traffic drugs.

In 2013, phone taps and a search of his home unveiled an array of illicit substances.

He was slapped with a $300 fine and sentenced to 12 months jail, wholly suspended.

Cheryl’s man has since cleaned up his act, gotten off the steroids and re-entered the workforce as a plumber.
