Called Ash Vs. Evil Dead, the series will be helmed by director Sam Raimi with Rob Tapert producing. The show is a spinoff of Sam’s popular Evil Dead film trilogy and will feature original star Bruce Campbell, who also worked with Lucy on Xena.
Lucy’s character is named Ruby and according to sources, will be a “mysterious figure” hell-bent on tracking down who or what is behind the “evil outbreaks”.
Ash Vs. Evil Dead will film here in New Zealand this year and will also star Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and Jill Marie Jones. It is set to air on Starz, the network which was also responsible for Lucy’s previous show Spartacus.
