Kim Kardashian may be happily settled down now with husband Kanye West and daughter North, but a new book detailing the reality star’s younger years has thrown the spotlight back on her first love.
According to biographer Sean Smith, Kim lost her virginity at the age of 14 to Tito Joe (TJ) Jackson, the son of Michael’s older brother Tito. The couple dated for two years in total before parting ways.
TJ, who is married and has three children of his own, says he still keeps in touch with the Kardashian family occasionally.
“I dated Kim when my mother passed away, so I was actually quite close to the family when I was young,” he told Reveal magazine.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview with Oprah Winfrey, Kim said her mother Kris was the one who put her on the birth control pill when she was “almost 15”.
“I was like, ‘I think I’m going to, or I want to,’ and she was like, ‘okay, so this is what we’re gonna do, we’re gonna put you on birth control,’” Kim revealed at the time.
“She was like, really open and honest with me.”
After dating TJ, Kim went on to have relationships with Ray J (with whom she filmed the infamous sex tape) and Reggie Bush and was previously married to Damon Thomas and Kris Humphries before she and Kanye tied the knot in Florence last year.
These days, the reality star is all about her family, which will soon grow with the addition of her second child – a boy.
In an interview with Glamour magazine earlier this year, Kim reflected on turning 35 and the lessons she had learnt along the way.
“I mean, obviously as you grow up, no one’s ever 100 percent proud of every decision that they’ve made, and that’s ok. I think as long as you learn from your mistakes, and don’t make them over and over again, you’re on the right path,” she told the publication.
