Zac Franich said goodbye to feisty Katey Freestone on last night’s episode of The Bachelor New Zealand, but when we sat down with the 21-year-old Bachelorette, she revealed it was harder saying goodbye to BFF Lucia Tabaillou than the hunky surf life-saving coach!

“I spent a lot more time with her than I did with Zac – I probably spent two hours max with Zac,” she said, adding that she knew the two were only going to be “friends” at most.

“He couldn’t handle my banter … I don’t think he liked the fact that I was testing his boundaries,” Katey explained.

The episode also saw Zac’s first kiss (with 21-year-old Claudia), which rattled Katey, who didn’t seem to think too highly of the blonde beauty.

However, the outspoken film student made it clear she wasn’t holding onto any grudges from her time in the house.

“[Claudia’s] actually a really lovely girl. Maybe I was just having a bad day,” she quipped.

“I did say some catty things and I didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings … I’m sure there’s going to be no hard feelings there and I hope they forgive me, because I’m not actually that mean!”

Check out what else Katey had to say in the video above, and tune in to The Bachelor NZ tonight at 7.30pm on Three to watch the latest in Zac’s journey to find love.
