A Dunedin woman has made enemies out of Camilla, by stealing a kiss with the Duchess’ husband!
The Prince of Wales and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, were walking the streets of Scarfie-central when Lesley Hayde, originally from Yorkshire, seized her moment.
“When he came out, I shouted, ‘Give us a kiss, give us a kiss, Charlie’,” Lesley said afterwards.
“I couldn’t believe it when he turned around and came towards me … and he said, ‘oh I don’t know if we should kiss”, and I just grabbed him and we got a kiss, and we got a kiss from Camilla afterwards.”
It caused a bit of a scuffle with security, but Lesley was glad she took the chance. She was ecstatic after locking lips with the future King, although a little worried about the repercussions.
“I thought, ‘Oh my god, I’m going to end up in that big prison behind me’.
“But it was brilliant. It was a good laugh.”
