The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have paid their respects to the victims of the Paris terror attacks.
The pair visited the French embassy in Knightsbridge, London, where they signed a book of condolence for those killed on Friday.
Looking sombre in black, the royal couple were met by the French ambassador Sylvie Bermann.
William took time to read other messages in the book as Kate stood respectfully at his side.
He wrote: “To all those who have died and were injured in the heartless attacks in Paris, and to all the people in France: Nos plus sinceres condolences.”
This translates as “our deep condolences”.
The Duchess signed her name below the message before also pausing to read the other messages in the book.
The couple then spoke with the ambassador, with the Duchess asking: “Do you know anyone who was affected?”
Before leaving the room the Duke said: “Truly dreadful”.
The Cambridges spent some time talking to other embassy staff in the lobby and admired the floral tributes on the front steps on their way out.
