Say hello to Sweden’s newest royal, H.R.H. Prince Nicolas Paul Gustaf, Duke of Angermanland!
Sweden’s littlest Prince was born on June 15, just days after Princess Madeleine’s brother Prince Carl Philip wed Sofia Hellqvist.
He joins one-year-old big sister Princess Leonore, Duchess of Gotland, the eldest child of Princess Madeleine and her husband Christopher O’Neill.
As you might expect, the Prince’s name has a very special meaning. According to People, Nicolas is a name used in the Bernadotte dynasty (the same family Sweden’s reigning royals are descended from). His middle name Paul is a nod to his father and grandfather, and Gustaf is also a tribute to King Carl XVI Gustaf, the baby’s grandfather and the King of Sweden.
