This year’s Trooping the Colour parade saw Prince George make his photo debut on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the rest of his family.

Even cuter, the tot was pictured wearing the exact same romper his father Prince William wore in his first photos on the balcony 31 years ago!

In the early 18th century, the tradition of ‘Trooping the Colour’ (carrying the army’s flags down through the ranks) was used to rally soldiers in battle. Since 1748, it has also marked the official celebration of the Sovereign’s birthday.

This year, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and the rest of the royal family turned out for the public celebration – click through to see photos from the happy occasion!
