Princess Charlotte has been christened at St Mary Magdalene Church

Princess Charlotte has been christened at the church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, the same church where Princess Diana was baptised.

The special day was full of poignant reminders of the Princess of Wales, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge choosing her niece Laura Fellowes as one of Princess Charlotte's godparents.

One of the musical pieces chosen for the christening, Vaughan Williams' Prelude on Rhosymedre, was also played at Kate and Prince William's wedding, as well as the wedding of Princess Diana and Princes Charles.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced five godparents for Princess Charlotte: Catherine's cousin Adam Middleton, William's cousin Lady Laura Fellowes (Princess Diana's niece), his friends Thomas van Straubenzee and James Meade, and Catherine's friend Sophie Carter.
