While it’s been a bit of a bumpy year for the royal family, there’s no question that one of the highlights was the announcement that Princess Beatrice was engaged to her beau and long-time family friend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Three months after the exciting announcement the couple finally celebrated with their friends and family at a star-studded engagement bash at the Chiltern Firehouse in London – a luxury five-star hotel and restaurant.

Following a pre-Christmas lunch at her grandmother The Queen’s at Buckingham Palace, Princess Bea invited a string of celebrities to her evening party including her “dear friend” Ellie Goulding, whom she sent an adorable text about their friendship earlier this week and long-term friend of the royals singer James Blunt and his wife Sofia Wesley.

Also spotted arriving at the event was Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field, who looked chic in a pink jumpsuit and matching belt and according to Express even Hollywood icon Robert De Niro was said to have been in attendance.

There were, of course, plenty of royal faces in attendance.

Princess Beatrice’s mother Sarah, Duchess of York was seen arriving at the venue in an all-black ensemble and the Duchess of Cambridge’s younger siblings were both in attendance – Pippa Middleton with her husband James Matthews and James Middleton with his fiancée Alizee Thevenet.

While she wasn’t photographed at the event, Bea’s younger sister Princess Eugenie was reportedly also there, but there seemed to be one noticeable absence – her father Prince Andrew, who has found himself in very hot water due to his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and allegations against him from on of Epstein’s alleged victims, despite having attended the pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace earlier in the day.

Princess Bea, 31, and ‘Edo’, 36, announced their engagement in September with Buckingham Palace releasing a joint statement in which they shared they were “extremely happy to be able to share the news”.

The couple released several black and white photographs of themselves taken by Misan Harriman at Royal Lodge while Princess Eugenie congratulated the couple with photographs she’d taken herself from the big moment.

While no date or venue for their nuptials has yet been announced, reports have indicated there could be an announcement in January.

Bea and Edo reportedly began dating in November 2018, after having known each other for years, making their first public appearance at the National Portrait Gallery’s 2019 Gala in March.

According to Town & Country Magazine Edoardo is a property developer who founded the real estate firm, Banda, in 2007, currently acting as its CEO.

While the thoughts of starting a family may be a wee while away for the newly engaged couple, the two will still have a little one to keep them occupied, with Edoardo already a father to toddler Christopher ‘Wolfie’ Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, whom he shares with former partner Dara Huang.
