Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall have announced their next royal tour, which will see the couple return to Canada for what will be the future king’s 19th visit.
The royal duo will travel through Newfoundland and Labrador, Ottawa, and the Northwest Territories on a whirlwind three-day tour next month.
While the dates of their official visit are yet to be confirmed, this is far from the couple’s first Canadian adventure.
Charles first visited the nation in 1970, when he was just 22, accompanied by his parents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, as well as sister Princess Anne.

(Credit: Getty)He has returned almost 20 times through the years, including a 1991 tour with Princess Diana and their young sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
In 2009 he and Camilla travelled to Canada for the first time as a couple, following their 2005 marriage, and their last visit to the country was in 2017, well before the pandemic put royal tours on hold for two years.
“It is, as always, a special joy to be back in Canada again—a place that is very dear to us both,” Charles said during a previous visit with Camilla.
“We are always made to feel so much at home in Canada and are greatly touched by the warmth of your welcome.”

(Credit: Getty)Now the pair are returning to the nation, which holds plenty of memories for Charles and family ties for Camilla.
The Duchess of Cornwall’s great-great-great grandfather Sir Allan Napier MacNab was a Canadian politician and lived at Dundurn Castle, which Camilla is now royal patron of.
“They will have the wonderful opportunity of seeing first-hand the diversity and kindness of Canadians and the beauty of our abundant natural landscapes that make us proud to call our country home,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in response to the tour announcement.
Meanwhile, Canada’s Governor General Mary Simon said in a statement: “This visit is a chance for us to showcase the evolution of our country, our diverse and inclusive society, as well as the resilience of Indigenous communities.”
A detailed itinerary has not yet been released, but the tour has been scheduled to alight with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this year.
Charles and Camilla carried out a similar tour of Egypt and Jordan in late 2021, meeting with local royals and visiting key cultural sites while representing Her Majesty abroad.
