A month after becoming a proud dad of three Prince William has been nominated for the 2018 Celebrity Dad of the Year award.
Prince William is one of 10 dads to make the list. His rivals include X Factor boss Simon Cowell, singer and songwriter Liam Payne and retired footballer and dad of three Rio Ferdinand, who lost his wife Rebecca Ellison to breast cancer aged 34 in 2015.
Prince William is known for being a hands-on dad to Prince George, four, Princess Charlotte, three, and newborn Prince Louis. We all collectively sighed ‘aww’ as we witnessed him appear to nod off during an Anzac Day Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey in London, which he attended just two days after his new son was born.
While the father-of-three had reported that their newborn was sleeping “reasonably well”, he was spotted struggling to keep his eyes open during the ceremony – something all new parents can relate to.
Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge are both passionate advocates of the importance of nurturing children’s mental health and wellbeing.
And while Prince William quipped about the arrival of Prince Louis as meaning “thrice the worry” – and Duchess Catherine joked about Prince William being “in denial” before the wee prince arrived, there’s no doubt that the royal is a doting dad.
From blowing up balloons for the kids to providing a reassuring hand to hold, to being there with Prince George for his first day at school, to personally delivering George’s handwritten letter to Santa, Prince William has been there.
The award will be announced in June.
