Prince George left “very envious” of his dad for the cutest reason

This is so sweet!

Prince William dropped by a fundraising black tie gala organised by the City Veterans’ Network on Thursday, mingling alongside hundreds of guests at the Imperial War Museum in London.

The proud dad to Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two, attended the swanky event as patron of the Defence National Rehabilitation Centre. The facility, due to open next year, aims to repair the “seriously wounded” who have returned home from battlefront with the aid of physio and cognitive therapy.

During a pre-dinner speech, the Duke recalled that his son was “very envious” that he got to drive an excavator while visiting the redevelopment project a little while back.

“I have been repeatedly impressed by both the speed and ambitious scale of this endeavor,” he told the audience.

“I was present at the end of 2014 when the first building was demolished to make way for the new construction. George was very envious as I got to drive a digger.”

Prince William chatted and laughed with guests at the glittering event organised by the City Veterans’ Network.

The event was held to raise money for the Defence National Rehabilitation Centre, a new establishment for injured members of the armed forces.

It’s easy to see Prince William is an incredible father.

But a recent encounter hammered home just how great the 35-year-old future King of England is with kids and how much he wants his own family to learn.

William met five-year-old Suzie McCash at the Pride of Britain Awards last month, which were held at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.

At the event, little Suzie was awarded the prestigious Child of Courage accolade for saving her mother’s life.

Suzie was only four when her mother collapsed at their family home in Tynemouth, Northumberland earlier this year and stopped breathing. But the fast-thinking child quickly called 999 (Triple 000 in Australia) and asked the emergency services for urgent help.

At a pre-party reception for the event, which honours the UK’s “unsung heroes”, Prince William was blown away by Suzie’s efforts, admitting he wasn’t sure if his own son Prince George would know what to do in that situation.

Prince William was so inspired by Suzie McCash saving her mother’s life that he plans to pass on her smarts to his little son.

“I have a four-year-old called George and if I gave him a telephone, I do not know what he would do,” William told Suzie.

Inspired by her smarts, William revealed he was going to go home and pass on the know-how to his little son.

“And do you know what, I’m going to have a conversation with my George about what to do because of what you’ve done,” Wills shared. “It’s really important.”

William and his wife, Duchess Catherine, are currently expecting their third little prince or princess.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child will arrive in April 2018, Kensington Palace confirmed on Twitter.

The beloved couple have not yet confirmed the exact due date, however there’s a chance the newest royal addition could share their birthday with their great-granny the Queen, who will celebrate her 92nd on 21 April.

Or, if the royal bub were to arrive later in the month, their grand entrance could coincide with the Cambridges’ seventh wedding anniversary on 29 April.

Only time will tell… congratulations again to the soon-to-be family-of-five!
