Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding may be just weeks away, but an upcoming biography is thrusting the former actress’s first marriage back into the spotlight.
Andrew Morton, who rose to fame in 1992 after his controversial biography on Princess Diana sent shock waves through the royal establishment, will soon release a new book all about the royal-bride-to-be, titled Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.
The Sun has published excerpts from the book which allege that 36-year-old ended her two-year marriage to movie producer Trevor Engelson “totally out of the blue.”
Meghan and Trevor tied the knot in 2011, but divorced just two years later in 2013.
It’s claimed distance played a role in the breakdown of their marriage, with Meghan relocating to Toronto for Suits and Trevor choosing to stay on in Los Angeles.
“While she saw her star rising, her husband’s career was treading water,” Morton writes.
“With no new projects in sight and with Suits on hiatus, Trevor took Meghan on a cycling vacation to Vietnam. It didn’t help that he became sick with food poisoning. Their escape to exotic locales, which once provided a backdrop for their love, only served to highlight the distance between them.”
He later adds: “She was her own woman now, earning a steady income, making new friends on-set and off, no longer dependent on her husband’s connections.”
Apparently, Trevor “can barely contain his anger” over the bust-up, even five years down the track.
“I have zero to say about her,” he has reportedly said when faced with inquiries.

Three years later, Meghan met Prince Harry and the rest, of course, is history. They are counting down the days until their May 19th wedding.
