Organising a wedding is a pretty stressful process for most people, but for Meghan Markle – whose upcoming royal wedding will be viewed by millions – it might be that little bit more stressful…
What a relief it must be, therefore, that the flower choices are apparently done and dusted!
Kensington Palace have confirmed that the florist for the royal wedding will be Philippa Craddock (who has a studio in Fulham and Selfridges in London) and that she is set to select blooms from the Crown Estate and Windsor Great Park gardens.
We can’t wait to see Philippa Craddock’s creations come to life.
“Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen floral designer @philippacraddock to create the church flowers for their wedding,” a statement from the palace read.
“The displays in St George’s Chapel will feature foliage from The Crown Estate and Windsor Great Park, and will use seasonal plants including branches of beech, birch and hornbeam, as well as white garden roses, peonies and foxgloves. The designs will reflect the wild and natural landscapes from which many of the plants will be drawn.”
“The Royal Parks will also supply some pollinator-friendly plants from their wildflower meadows, which will be incorporated into the floral designs. These plants provide a great habitat for bees and help to nurture and sustain entire ecosystems by promoting a healthy and biodiverse environment.”
In a touching tribute, after their wedding the couple will donate the flowers to charitable organisations.
After they said “I do”, the flowers from their wedding will be given to charity.
Upon her royal appointment, Philippa Craddock said: “I am excited and honoured to have been chosen by Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle to design and create their wedding flowers. Working with them has been an absolute pleasure.”
“The process has been highly collaborative, free-flowing, creative and fun. The final designs will represent them as a couple, which I always aim to achieve in my work, with local sourcing, seasonality and sustainability being at the forefront.”
The peonies element should come as no surprise to Meghan fans, for the flowers are a known favourite of the former actress.
In her (now deleted) Instagram account, she once posted a picture of a bouquet of peonies which she captioned: “Swooning over these. #London #peonies #spoiledrotten.”
This follows a post in 2016, where, under another picture of the blooms, she had written: “I bought these peonies for myself yesterday because they make me so endlessly happy.”

Meghan and Harry are set to marry on Saturday 19th May at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and we really cannot wait!
